Technologies for Academic Skill Enrichment (TASE)
What is the TASE Program?
- TASE is designed to help you learn ways to study smartly and effectively at the University of Connecticut using low cost/no-cost assistive and learning technologies.
- TASE is customized to individual needs and will introduce and train you on a variety of new and evidence-based learning technologies to help you to read, write, problem-solve, manage time, and take tests using technology-based tools and strategies for college-level work.
- There are 3 levels to TASE. You can choose any level to participate. You do NOT have to participate in all 3 levels to be in TASE. If interested in TASE, we recommend you consider at least Level 2 and Level 3.
- Level 1: Learning Technologies Needs Assessment
Find out your current level of knowledge, skills, and disposition towards college level learning technologies, and discover what more you need to learn to get
the most out of your college experience. Learning Technologies Needs Assessment will help you learn about technologies that can build your strengths while
support your areas of challenge.
Fee for service: $500
- Level 2: Customize your computer
Get your laptop/desktop customized with recommended software for increased access and effective learning. Our trained strategy instructors and the University’s
instructional technology staff (Husky Net) will work with you to make recommendations for software purchase and then install and customize your computer with
shortcuts and screen configuration for using these technologies.
Fee for service: $250
- Level 3: Study Smart with Learning Technologies
Study Smart with Learning Technologies will teach you study skills and strategies for the digital age. You will get to work one-on-one with a trained strategy
instructor to develop an individualized plan of study with learning technologies. Learn ways to read, take notes, memorize, organize a paper, deliver a
presentation, problem solve and manage time with technologies that you can use any place, any time, and on your own.
Group sessions are also available on a broad range of topics and technologies.
Fee for service: $1,200
