Regional Campus Students
Campus Change Information
The University of Connecticut is a multi-campus system. Students may take courses at any campus: Avery Point, Greater Hartford, Stamford, Storrs, Torrington and Waterbury. However, students must be registered for the majority of their credits at their home campus. The home campus is the campus to which the student was admitted unless an authorized campus change has taken place.
In order to campus change from a regional campus to the Storrs campus students have to fulfill the programmatic requirements for their major. For most students, this is the completion of 54 credits. However, when required course work is not available at the regional campuses, students may find it necessary to switch to the Storrs campus at an earlier point in their undergraduate career. All students who have earned at least 54 credits are eligible to change from a regional campus to the Storrs campus. When registering for courses, students need to work with their regional campus advisor to plan out subsequent semester course loads to determine when a change of campus is warranted. Using guidance from their advisor, supported by the Student Services office at the regional campus, students may be able to change to the Storrs campus earlier if course work necessary to progress toward degree completion on time requires them to do so. Students must obtain permission from the Director of Student Services at the student’s regional campus in order to campus change to Storrs before the completion of 54 credits. Students should pay attention to any deadlines when applying to change campuses, such as applying for on-campus housing at Storrs.
If a student qualifies to come to the Storrs campus, he/she should complete the Campus Change Form and submit it to the Registrar's Office at his/her campus. If a student is interested in housing at the Storrs Campus, he/she should fill out an Application for Housing available at www.reslife.uconn.edu by the required deadline.
Students are encouraged to contact the Disability Contact Person at the appropriate campus with any questions or concerns about this process.
